Day #2: Update

I have registered for classes!

Fall classes:
1.) World Prehistory
Survey of the prehistoric and early historic cultures of the Americas, Asia, and Africa.
2.) Introduction to Entomology
Fundamentals of insect biology including structure and function, development, ecology, behavior, plant feeding and disease transmission.
3.) Introduction to Europe
This course will cover the basic physical and human geography of Europe, emphasizing the factors that tie Europe together as well as the diversity of environmental and cultural conditions in the region. The class will focus particularly on those countries that are current members of the EU and on possible future entrants.
4.) Political Geography
Contemporary world political problems in their geographic context. Development of the principles of political geography with emphasis upon the problems of Eastern Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
(CORRECTION: I just dropped Horticulture and added Political Geography. Better chances of it counting.)

Ah, yes. An easy TR semester... Elective credits were all that were available so I took it.
I don't have to be a machine ALL the time, right? ...(I am still trying to convince myself that this is true.)

Day #2

Good morning #2!

To do:
1.) Get coffee asap.
2.) Go back to advising and try to get... advised. (Again.)
3.) Look for apartment $$$ online.
4.) Read.
5.) Register for classes. (Maybe.)
6.) Look for coffee jobs.
7.) Call Chrissy back.
8.) Call Carrie!
9.) Thrive?

Yesterday was pretty fun. I spent the whole day with my aunt, cousin, and mom. We went everywhere! Registrar, advising, Middle Eastern Studies Department, International Relations Department, coffee houses, people's houses, etc., etc., etc...

Anyway, I wa totally beat by last night. Katie and Katie's room mate's friend (Jessie) came over and cooked us an AWESOME dinner. (Jessie's a chef.) Quail, and ratatouille with this awesome sweet... something sauce. Man. Very very VERY delicious.
Moving right along... Today is another action packed Arkansas day. More campus exploration will occur. No doubt there. So far the campus is pretty gigantic. It's a little overwhelming to tell you the truth. I'm not sure that I'll ever figure it out at this point. So many streets and buildings and and and... It's nuts! It'll be great once I know my way around.

I AM PARTICULARLY EXCITED... ABOUT THE BIKE TRAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The bike trail goes through three cities and connects to just about everything in Fayetteville... How cool is that!? I'm SO ready to use that thing.

Peace!

Swedesboro, NJ - Fayetteville, AR

Good morning!
So this is the first day in Arkansas, and therefore the first post in the newest blog! Welcome to my adventure!

Here is my exciting* to do list for the day:
1.) Find advising, and get advised!
2.) Find financial aid, and get aid!
3.) Register for classes.
4.) Make contact with that local church/& college ministry Chrissy and Steve told me about.
5.) Explore!

A quick recap of this trip so far:

My mom and I packed up Jeep and headed South West towards Arkansas. About 2 or 3 hours into our 22 hour trip when smoke started blowing out of the back of my car!!!! Praise God for being close to an exit! Long story short, my transmission fluid was leaking onto hot pipes and creating smoke. We called AAA, hoped in the two truck, loaded up, and headed back to Jersey. We got home, booked a flight, and repacked. The flight was cancelled... UGH. Trials and tribulations. The upside is that I got to spend another Sunday with my Grace family! :-)
So, I rescheduled this flight and headed to PHL last night... flew through Chicago... and landed in Bentonville, Arkansas at approx. 11:00 p.m.
ZzzzZZzzzZzzzz. I fell asleep at my cousin's apartment and work up at 6:30 a.m.
I just had my first two cups of coffee, met my cousin's room mate, and made contact with the family HQ (AKA: NJ).

Now I'm headed out to complete that to-do list! Wish me luck!

Peace.
